A word from the President
To all ball hockey players,
Back in 2011 when we started the Burrows Cup project, we were quite ambitious. Our goal was to organize the best ball hockey tournament in the world. It was clear in our heads that we would do anything to put this beautiful sport at an all new level.
It ain't easy and it demands a lot of work but we managed to get 106 teams in 2011, 120 in 2012, 166 in 2013 and a record of 250 in 2014, and it was only the beginning.
In 2015, after numerous demands from teams to present more than one event per year, we added 2 to our program : Granby Burrows Budweiser Classic and Quebec Burrows Classic. In the end, all three events were great success with respectively 200, 207 and 360 teams! A new record was set with more than 750 teams registered!
We will now celebrate our sixth season with 6 major events in 2016 adding up a winter classic in Quebec plus Victoriaville and St-Roch classics. In total, we will giveaway more than $300,000 in cash & prizes setting yet another record!
To conclude this spectacular 2016 season, we are mighty proud to be awarded to host, for the first time in Canada, the 3vs3 WBHF (World Ball Hockey Federation) Championship in September. We are migthy proud of being awarded. In its announcement, WBHF Executive vice-president, M. Jaroslav Melisek stated that "the Burrows Cup is the best ball hockey organization in the world".
We now have members on the WBHF board and we are in charge of promoting and developping the 3vs3 format around the world.
We'd like to share all of this success with all of you, ball hockey players. THANK YOU for your support. Together, we will put this sport to anoter level.
Simon Leblanc | President | Burrows Cup
