About Burrows Cup
The future of hockey : ball hockey!
The fastest paced hockey out there. We offer continuous play, no offsides or face-offs to slow down the pace. With 2 periods of 12 minutes each, that is 24 minutes of nonstop action! With a maximum of 10 players (9 + goalie) per team and smaller playing surfaces, the hockey presented at the Burrows Cup is definitely exciting to play and watch!
We want players to show their skill, that is why body checking and any violent behaviour are absolutely prohibited. At the Burrows Cup, all levels of ball hockey players (male and female) will have their own version of the “Stanley Cup” and the chance to live a pro like experience!
The organizers of the Burrows Cup is composed of very active members in the ball hockey community. Our team has accumulated an impressive amount of experience in major ball hockey tournaments and events at the regional, provincial, national and international levels. Since 2001, members of our team have won a total of 3 world championships, 10 national championships and over 100 tournaments that took place in various places, from Montreal to Thailand! The latest one, the WBHF (World Ball Hockey Federation) world championship 3vs3 that was held in Bratislava, in november 2015.
Throughout these tournaments, the founding members of the Burrows Cup have had their share of good and bad experiences. They have used our experience to regroup the elements we believed were clear strengths in these tournaments with the ultimate goal being to provide you with the best ball hockey experience possible. For amateur players, it represents a “Pro” like experience that is within reach!
The organizers of the BC are now official boards members of the WBHF and in charge of the development of the 3vs3 format in the world. In a interview, WBHF Executive Vice-President, M. Jarovslav Melisek stated that "the Burrows is the best ball hockey organization in the world." Therefore, the BC organization was awarded the presentation of the 2nd WBHF 3vs3 championship that will be in 2016. It is a great honor for an organization dedicated to put this sport at another level.
